Zachary Balleisen's work experience begins in 2013 as a Mechanical Engineering Intern at Sensus, where they worked on designing smart gas meters and created 3D models to support product transformation efforts. In 2015, they interned as a Business Consulting Intern at Tecnológico de Monterrey, where they conducted surveys and water quality testing to develop a conservation plan for an endangered freshwater shellfish. In 2017, they served as a Public Relations Intern at the North Carolina Governor's Office, monitoring news outlets and social media and developing VBA scripts for automation. From 2019 to 2020, Zachary worked as a Research Technician at the Connecticut Institute for Resilience and Climate Adaptation, conducting original research, developing a data portal for policymakers, and creating a simulation model for evaluating coastal defense projects. Currently, in 2021, they are a Software Engineer at Tulip Interfaces.
Zachary Balleisen attended Riverside High School from 2011 to 2015. After completing high school, they enrolled at Yale University, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Cognitive Science and Mechanical Engineering from 2015 to 2019.
