Gareth Harrison

Gareth Harrison has significant work experience in tax and finance roles. Gareth is currently serving as the Group Tax Director at Tullow Oil. Prior to this, they worked as the Director at Karibu Consulting Limited. Gareth also holds various positions in audit committees and non-executive board director roles at Airtel Money RDC, Airtel Money Tchad, and AIRTEL CONGO B. From 2018 to 2022, they served as the Group Tax Director at Airtel Africa. Gareth has also worked as the Tax Director at PwC Kenya and held a temporary role as the Interim Europe Senior Tax Manager at Diageo. In their earlier career, Gareth served as the Tax Director for Africa at Bharti Airtel Limited, where they were responsible for managing taxes across 17 countries and leading a team of tax professionals.

Gareth Harrison obtained an Exec MBA in Business from École des Ponts Business School in the years 2007 to 2008. Prior to that, they earned a Master's degree in Politics & History from The University of Salford from 1996 to 1998, and a BA (Hons) in Politics & History from the same university from 1993 to 1996. Additionally, they attended Kings School Macclesfield from 1982 to 1989. In 2015, they also received a certification in "Configuring the World: A Critical Political Economy Approach" from Coursera, although the exact month of completion is unknown.
