Sarah Peterson has extensive experience working in the library system. Sarah started their career in 1994 as a Technical Services Manager at Tulsa City-County Library, where they worked for over 20 years. In 2015, they became the Library Director at Oklahoma State University-Tulsa. Sarah then moved on to become the Director of Collections at the Metropolitan Library System of Oklahoma County in 2016. Most recently, they have taken on the role of Systemwide Products Director at Tulsa City-County Library since December 2018.
Sarah Peterson has a strong educational background in the field of language and literature. Sarah received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Philosophy from Luther College, where they studied from 1988 to 1992. Following this, they pursued a Master of Arts degree in English Language and Literature/Letters at The University of Tulsa, attending from 1992 to 1994. With a passion for library and information science, Sarah later completed a Master of Library & Information Science (MLIS) degree at the University of Oklahoma, specializing in this field of study from 2005 to 2008.
