Tyler Stevenson

Tyler Stevenson, M.A., currently serves as a Special Education Teacher at Tulsa Honor Academy, a position held since July 2023. Previous experience includes working as a Freelance Journalist for LGBTQ Nation from October 2021 to February 2023, where Tyler authored over 20 articles focused on LGBTQIA+ rights and legislation, with a particular emphasis on asexuality. Tyler also contributed to the QueerAF weekly newsletter in 2022, writing various articles on asexuality. Prior to journalism, Tyler spent several years in the educational field, holding roles as a Special Education Teacher and Academic Bowl coach at Tulsa Public Schools from 2015 to 2022 and working as a Special Education Paraprofessional for four years. Tyler’s early career included serving as a Developmental Disability Care Assistant at Gatesway Foundation, earning recognition as Disability Care Assistant of the Year in 2014. Academic credentials include a Master of Arts in Special Education Administration from Southern Nazarene University and dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in Psychology and Psychology-Mental Health Emphasis from Northeastern State University.
