Tuntum Housing Association
Tuntum is a Nottingham based social housing provider providing housing and support services for people on low incomes. The name ‘Tuntum’ comes from the West African Ashanti language. Although not a literal translation, the word symbolises people working together. We are governed by a Board of 12 individuals, including a tenant member, who have a wide range of skills and experience. Board members attend regular training to broaden their knowledge and ensure they stay up to date with current regulations, legislation and issues affecting our tenants and residents. Tuntum Housing Association is a a member of the BME National Group – a collective of BME (black & ethnic minority) housing associations in England, working with the NHF (National Housing Federation) to provide a platform for BME housing issues. Tuntum has helped many people across all communities to find a place to call home. With more than 1600 properties in management to date, with more currently in development, Tuntum offers a variety of affordable housing across the East Midlands in 12 different local authorities, ranging from 1 bedroom flats to large family houses. Set up in 1988, Tuntum is one of the largest BME led independent housing associations in the UK. Tuntum has proudly supported the Nottingham Carnival (formerly the Nottingham Caribbean Carnival) for over 20 years.
