Zack Abernathy

Zack Abernathy currently serves as the County Superintendent of Schools for Tuolumne County since January 2023, combining educational leadership with extensive experience in teaching and administration. In addition to this role, Zack has worked at Sonora Union High School since August 2014 as a Teacher, Activity Director, and Coach, while also serving as a Mathematics Instructor at Linden High School since 2013. Additionally, Zack has held positions as a Teacher, Activities Director, and Coach at Bret Harte Union High School District since 2006. Zack earned a Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from the Teachers College of San Joaquin between 2009 and 2012, a Bachelor's Degree in Agricultural Business from CSU Fresno from 1999 to 2001, and an Associate's Degree in General Studies from Modesto Junior College from 1996 to 1999.
