Karen Smith

Karen Smith is a seasoned education professional with extensive experience in instructional facilitation and curriculum development. Currently serving as a Senior Teaching & Learning Specialist at Turnitin since May 2021, Karen previously worked for over three decades at Somerset County Public Schools, where roles included Instructional Facilitator and ELA Teacher. Responsibilities included co-teaching, professional development, data analysis, and the development of common assessments. Additionally, in a prior role at Turnitin, Karen contributed as a Contractual Curriculum Developer, creating instructional materials and collaborating with research teams to enhance writing assessment practices. Karen holds a Master of Arts in English/Writing and a Bachelor's degree in Secondary Education/English, both from Salisbury University.
