Kristi Garcia is an experienced educational professional currently serving as the Administrator of English Learners and Bilingual Family Engagement for Tuscaloosa City Schools since August 2006. In this role, Kristi coordinates district professional development focused on teaching English Language Learners (ELLs), supports administrators and faculty, leads ESL Specialists/Coaches, assists non-English speaking families, and fosters community partnerships with local colleges and universities to support the international community. Prior to this position, Kristi worked as an ESL Specialist for Baldwin County Board of Education from August 1997 to May 2006 and also served as a Spanish Teacher during that time. Kristi holds a Master's degree in Educational Leadership and Administration from the University of South Alabama and a Bachelor's degree in Spanish Language Teacher Education from The University of Alabama.
