Duncan Palmer

Duncan Palmer has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Duncan started their career as a Courier and Parcels Officer at CourierPost in 2013, where they worked until June 2016. In 2016, Duncan had an internship at LearningWorks, and later became a Contracted Developer, primarily working with PHP on implementing a Service Desk solution and assisting with bugs on clients' Learning Management Systems.

In 2017, Duncan joined ControlPoint International Ltd as a Contract Software Engineer for a year, before moving to Spark New Zealand. At Spark, they initially worked as an Associate Development Engineer and later transitioned to a Software Engineer role. In this position, Duncan was responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining full stack applications within the Service Assurance domain, utilizing technologies such as C# .NET MVC, WebAPIs, Angular, HTML/CSS, and SQL Server.

Duncan's next venture was at ModuSense in 2021, where they worked as a Senior Full Stack Developer. During their tenure, they were involved in various responsibilities, including designing, developing, and maintaining the ModuSense IIoT Data Platform, React Web Portal, and React Native mobile application. Duncan also assisted with candidate interviews, coordinated technical support efforts, and managed projects. Notably, they contributed to the architecture and development of a IIoT device configuration and firmware management/delivery system using AWS IoT Core.

Currently, Duncan is working at Tuatahi First Fibre as a Solutions Designer, starting from July 2022.

Duncan Palmer completed their Bachelor's Degree in Business Information Technology at Wintec - Waikato Institute of Technology from 2014 to 2017. In addition to their degree, they have obtained certifications such as "React - The Complete Guide" from Udemy in January 2021 and "Certified Technologist" from IT Professionals NZ in August 2019.
