Heather LeBlanc's work experience includes roles in various organizations. In 2018, they worked as a Zoo Educator at the Central Florida Zoological & Botanical Gardens, where they provided educational experiences for guests, launched new programs, and trained new employees and volunteers. In 2020, they became a College Essay Writing Tutor at Tutor.com. Heather also worked as a Raptor Trauma Clinic Intern at the National Audubon Society- Audubon Center for Birds of Prey, where they provided daily care for injured raptors and conducted medical examinations. Additionally, they served as an Ecology Research Assistant at the Florida Scrub-Jay Trail Association, conducting habitat comparison studies and volunteering at various events. Prior to that, they worked as a Substitute Teacher at the University of Florida- Baby Gator Child Development and Research Center, engaging students in early learning activities and training new staff members. In 2017, they were a Seasonal Research Assistant at the University of Florida College of Veterinary Medicine, where they cared for mares and foals and conducted health assessments.
Heather LeBlanc has a Master of Science (MS) degree in Veterinary Medical Sciences, which they obtained from the University of Florida from 2018 to 2019. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Science (BS) in Wildlife Ecology and Conservation at the University of Florida from 2015 to 2017. In addition to their formal education, Heather has obtained several certifications related to animal welfare, conservation education, zoonotic diseases and biosecurity, and environmental education. These certifications were obtained from institutions such as San Diego Zoo Global and Project Learning Tree, with the most recent certification being achieved in February 2019.
