Jim Hight has extensive work experience in various roles. Jim began their career in 1970 at the United States Postal Service, where they worked as a clerk and later held positions as a Management Trainee, supervisor, manager, human resources associate, and postmaster. Jim worked at the postal service for 37 years, until 2007.
After leaving the postal service, Jim worked as an Adjunct Professor of English at Crowder College from 2010 to 2015. Jim then moved on to Vatterott College, where they worked as an Adjunct Professor from 2011 to 2015, and as the Director of Education from 2015 to 2016.
In 2017, Jim joined Northeastern Oklahoma A&M College as an Adjunct Professor, a position they currently hold.
Lastly, in 2019, Jim started working as an Online Tutor at Tutor.com. Jim reviews college-level writing and research work for undergraduate and graduate students. Jim was also recognized for their outstanding work and was nominated and selected as the tutor of the month for asynchronous writing.
Jim Hight obtained their Bachelor of Arts Degree in English from Missouri Southern State University from 1970 to 1975. Following that, they pursued a Master of Arts Degree in Education, Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Phoenix, where they studied from 2003 to 2005. Later, Jim completed a PhD in Postsecondary & Adult Education at Capella University, enrolling from 2008 and graduating in 2013.
