Andrea Bedini

Andrea Bedini has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Andrea is currently working as a Software Engineer at Tweag since January 2022. Prior to that, they worked as a Software Architect at Input Output (IOHK) starting from February 2022.

From 2019 to 2021, Andrea worked at Fortescue Metals Group, where they held two positions. Andrea started as an Autonomy Systems Architect in April 2019 and later transitioned to the role of Specialist Data Scientist in October 2019.

Before their time at Fortescue Metals Group, Andrea worked as a Data Scientist at KZN Group from August 2017 to April 2019. In this role, they provided expertise in various analytical techniques and contributed to the development of a data science practice using AWS tools.

Andrea also served as a Business Computational Specialist at Curtin University from February 2016 to August 2017. Their responsibilities included providing computing and visualization solutions to Curtin Business School researchers.

Andrea began their career as a Research Fellow in Mathematics at The University of Melbourne in May 2010. Andrea conducted research on traffic flow dynamics and worked in collaboration with VicRoads on studying flow across a major intersection.

Prior to that, Andrea worked as a Unix System Administrator at Università di Pisa from April 2005 to March 2006, where they managed machines for the Space Mechanics Group.

Andrea also briefly worked as a Unix System Administrator at Sunrise S.R.L., Massa (MS), Italy from June 2000 to September 2000.

Andrea Bedini holds a PhD in Theoretical and Mathematical Physics from Università degli Studi di Milano, which they obtained from 2006 to 2010. Prior to this, they completed their Master of Science (MSc) in Physics at Università di Pisa from 2004 to 2006. Their undergraduate degree, Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Physics, was also obtained from Università di Pisa from 2000 to 2004.

In addition to their academic qualifications, Andrea has obtained certifications in the field of cloud computing. Andrea became an AWS Certified Big Data - Specialty from Amazon Web Services (AWS) in October 2017. Andrea also holds the certification of AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate from the same institution, which they obtained in October 2017 as well.
