Simeon Carstens is a highly experienced professional with a strong background in statistical genetics, data engineering, and Bayesian statistics. Currently serving as a Project Lead at Tweag since May 2019, Simeon oversees projects in collaboration with a major pharmaceutical company and contributes to open-source initiatives. Previously, valuable research experience was gained as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Max Planck Institute for Biophysical Chemistry and New York University, developing innovative Bayesian methods for chromatin structure inference and collaborating on various interdisciplinary projects. Earlier roles at institutions like Institut Pasteur involved the creation of efficient Python libraries and MCMC algorithms for Bayesian data analysis, alongside active contributions to the academic community through publications and presentations. Simeon holds a PhD in Computer Science from the Technical University of Munich and a Master of Science in Physics from the University of Tübingen.
