Olivier Schmidt

Olivier Schmidt currently serves as a Politiek Adviseur for the fractievoorzitter of D66 and heads the Team EU, Foreign Affairs, Defence, and Tech within the Tweede Kamer der Staten-Generaal, focusing on EU affairs, technology, intelligence agencies, nationality law, and trade. Previous experience includes participation in the Clingendael Institute's diplomatic training program, an internship in the Brexit Taskforce at the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and a research assistant role at Leiden University. Olivier Schmidt also interned as a policy advisor at D66 and consulted for a project on diploma mobility at the Netherlands-Asia Honours Summer School. Olivier Schmidt received a Master's degree in European Law from Leiden University and a Bachelor's degree in Law from Utrecht University, in addition to studies at Peking University and the University of Edinburgh.
