Hua Li (Richard)

Hua (Richard) Li is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in materials development and process engineering, currently serving as a Senior Staff Process Development Engineer at Twelve since November 2022. Previous roles include Senior Scientist and Advanced Scientist at Bolt Threads from May 2017 to November 2022, where work focused on the development of sustainable leather alternatives and bioengineered silk-fiber technology. Prior to that, Hua served as a Senior Scientist at Liquidity Nanotech Corporation, leading research and development of polymer nanofiber membranes. Hua also contributed as a Product Engineer and R&D Scientist at Advanced Hydro Inc., leading projects on membrane technology. Educational background includes a PhD in Chemistry from The University of Texas at Austin, an M.S. in Macromolecular Chemistry and Physics, and a Bachelor's degree in Applied Chemistry from Fudan University.
