James Diggans is an experienced leader in bioinformatics and biosecurity, currently serving as Chair of the Board of Directors at the International Gene Synthesis Consortium since February 2022. At Twist Bioscience since April 2015, James has held roles including Distinguished Scientist, Director, and Senior Manager in Bioinformatics and Biosecurity. Previously, James worked as a Senior Bioinformatics Scientist at Veracyte, Inc. from September 2011 to April 2015, focusing on statistical approaches and predictive modeling in cancer diagnostics. James also served at MITRE from November 2006 to September 2011, managing DARPA projects and leading a group in computational biology. James holds a PhD in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology from George Mason University and a BS in Computer Science and Microbiology from the University of Florida.
