Lionel Waschnig

Lionel Waschnig is an experienced Application Scientist II specializing in Bioinformatics NGS at Twist Bioscience since February 2021, where responsibilities include providing pre- and post-sales technical support for Next Generation Sequencing Target Enrichment portfolios and collaborating with key opinion leaders on various applications. Prior to this role, Lionel served as EMEA Webinar Lead at Illumina from January 2018 to February 2021, overseeing the creation and deployment of digital campaigns and webinars in multiple languages for over 1000 customers, as well as acting as a Senior Technical Application Scientist with advanced expertise in Illumina's sequencing platforms. Earlier experience includes a Research Internship in Bioinformatics at Royal Holloway, University of London, focusing on immune responses and microbial communities, and a Research Internship at Imperial College London studying Epstein-Barr Virus strains. Lionel holds a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Biochemistry from Royal Holloway, University of London.
