Shihan Zhang

Shihan Zhang is a design innovator with extensive experience in product design and speculative design. As the Founder and Innovation Director of alterR.studio since May 2019, Shihan leads a studio focused on exploring and prototyping potential futures. Concurrently, Shihan holds various roles at Twitch, progressing from Product Designer to Lead Product Designer in Viewer Discovery. Previous experience includes serving as a Speculative Creator for SPACE10, a Creative at the New Museum of Contemporary Art, and an Adjunct Professor at Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts. Shihan also has a history of leadership in design initiatives, such as serving as Design Director for AIGA San Francisco and Exhibition Chair for the Design Futures Initiative. An alumnus of California College of the Arts and Zhejiang University, Shihan holds advanced degrees in Design and Industrial and Product Design, complemented by international education in public speaking and business communication.
