Ian Margol

Ian Margol serves as an adjunct professor at both the University of Miami, where courses focus on the fundamentals of electronic media production, and Florida International University, teaching electronic news gathering and sports broadcasting. With extensive experience in journalism, Ian has been a general assignment reporter for WPLG since July 2016, building strong community relationships across South Florida. Previous roles include multimedia journalist and anchor at WSAV-TV, as well as general assignment reporter at KJCT News 8 and KKCO 11 News. Ian's early career was established at CBS News as a freelance associate producer, following a foundational education that includes a Master of Science in Communications from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University and a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Sociology from Emory University.
