George Shammas

George Shammas is an experienced technology professional currently serving as a Site Reliability Engineer at Two Sigma since August 2016. As a co-founder of NYC Resistor, Shammas has fostered a community of hackers in the New York metro area since August 2007. Previous roles include DevOps Engineer at MakerBot®, where infrastructure was streamlined from 60 servers to 14, and co-founder of Totally Legit Corp, a hacker collective. Early career highlights include System Administrator positions at New York University and Etsy, where Shammas contributed to network design and Virtual Machine provisioning. Educational background includes studies at New York City College of Technology and New York University - Polytechnic School of Engineering.
