Tan Yan

Tan Yan is a Software Engineer at Two Sigma, specializing in options market making with a focus on low latency tactics since August 2021. Prior to this role, Tan completed various internships, including at PatchRx where backend notification architecture was redesigned using DynamoDB and AWS Lambda, and at Apple where an API for streaming large datasets was prototyped. Additional experience includes an internship at Microsoft, where a real-time dashboard for Azure's network telemetry was developed, and a lead instructor position at Cyber Defense Camp where cybersecurity principles were taught. Earlier experiences include research roles at the University of North Texas, focusing on machine learning algorithms for seizure detection and mobile therapeutic systems for epilepsy. Tan holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Carnegie Mellon University, obtained in 2021, and attended the University of North Texas from 2016 to 2018.
