Shinichiro Katayanagi

Graduated from Keio University, Faculty of Law, Department of Political Science. He built up his career in the sales department of the overseas business at Nippon Cement (currently Taiheiyo Cement), and in 1991 moved to Yamanouchi Pharmaceutical (currently Astellas Pharma). After working in the corporate planning and finance departments, he was stationed in Europe and experienced accounting, finance, and management system construction work at the European head office. After returning to Japan in 2001, he participated in a merger project with Fujisawa Yakuhin as a core member, realizing the creation of a new company, Astellas. Later, after being stationed in the United States, he assumed the position of Executive Officer and General Manager of Corporate Planning Department. Since 2009, he has overseen the Asia-Oceania business as General Manager of the Asia Business Headquarters. In 2015, he joined Toho Holdings, a major pharmaceutical wholesaler, and led the expansion of overseas business as an executive officer of the company. In 2016, he joined Sumitomo Dainippon Pharma (now Sumitomo Pharma). He was mainly in charge of the US business, and in 2020, as chairman of the company's US subsidiary, he oversaw the management of operations. Current position from April 2021.
