Tim Keane

Tim Keane has a long and varied work experience. Tim began their career in 2009 as an Engineering Intern at MSA - The Safety Company. In 2010, they worked as a Student Researcher at the McGowan Institute. In 2012, they began their Graduate Research Fellowship at the University of Pittsburgh, where they were a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow from 2013 to 2016. In 2014, they worked as a Clinical Biomedical Engineer at UPMC's Artificial Heart Program. In 2016, they began a Postdoctoral Fellowship at Imperial College London, where they were a Horizon 2020 Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellow from 2017 to 2019 and a Whitaker International Scholar from 2016 to 2017. Tim conducted research in the laboratory of Professor Molly Stevens and managed multiple projects and collaborations. In 2019, they became a Medical Device Biodesign Fellow at the Texas Medical Center. Most recently, in 2020, they became the Cofounder and CEO of TYBR Health.

Tim Keane has a diverse educational background. Tim completed a BSc in Chemical Engineering with a minor in Bioengineering from the University of Pittsburgh in 2011. Tim then went on to receive their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering from the same university in 2016. Following this, they were a Post doctoral Fellow at Imperial College London from 2016 to 2019.
