Brian Piere has over 19 years of professional experience in software engineering, development, and architecture. In 2001, they founded Dot Copy Inc., an online internet company with nearly 1 million paying customers. Brian did this without any funding, loans, employees, or partners in the wake of a dot-com crash, committing to doing everything himself initially. In 2000, they relocated to Palo Alto as a Software Architect for Xavient Digital, gaining experience with J2EE, WebSphere, DB2, AS400, and Struts Framework. From 2013 to 2015, they were a Senior Consultant at McGraw-Hill Education, quickly gaining a reputation for solving the trickiest of bugs, developing pristine code, and working well with others. In 2016, they were a Senior Software Consultant at TigerText, leading development on a portal integration between TigerText and U.S. Cellular on a 4 month contract. Brian was also a Principal Software Engineer at Ontos Healthcare, leading development on cloud-service modules for connecting BlueMix to Node + Redis, Node + PostgreSQL, Java + Redis, Java + PostgreSQL, and Node + Cloudant. In 2017, they were a Principal Software Engineer at LearnWithOrion.com, leading development on a psychometric adaptive learning platform integrated with gamification. In 2019, they became a Lead Software Engineer at TYCHON, designing an Elasticsearch / Kibana Plugin SPA to run the TYCHON security platform, primarily used by the Department of Defense. In 2020, they became a Principal Consultant at ECS.

Brian Piere received their Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from California State University, Northridge in 1998. Prior to that, they completed 1/2 of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Moorpark College between 1994 and 1996.
