Catherine Simpson

Catherine Simpson has worked in the healthcare industry for over 25 years. Catherine began their career in 1995 as a Library Resources Adviser at Stafford College in Stafford. In 2014, they joined the NHS as a Clinical Research Administrator. Catherine then moved to Staffordshire and Stoke On Trent Partnership NHS Trust in 2015 as an Information Governance Support Officer. In 2018, they became an Information Governance Officer at Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. In 2019, they took on the role of Information Governance Consultant at Midlands and Lancashire Commissioning Support Unit. Most recently, in 2022, they became the Head of Data Compliance and Data Protection Officer at Tympa Health Technologies Ltd.

Catherine Simpson has a background in library and information science, having obtained a Foundation degree from Wrexham Glyndŵr University in 2011-2013. Catherine has also completed several certifications, including a BCS Foundation Certificate in Data Protection from BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT in 2016, an ITIL Foundation Certificate in Service Management from BCS, The Chartered Institute for IT in 2015, an Information Governance Certificate for Health and Social Care from Anglia Ruskin University in 2017, and EU General Data Protection Regulation Foundation and Practitioner certifications from the International Board for IT Governance Qualifications in 2018.
