Chineye Ochem

Chineye Ochem has a diverse range of work experience in various roles and industries. Starting in 2012, they worked as a Lecturer at Success Associates, where they taught financial accounting, auditing, and taxation to ICAN students. In 2015, they joined Ahmed Zakari & Co. (Chartered Accountants) as a Qualified Associate, working on audit engagements and handling tasks such as computing Company Income Tax and Capital Allowance. Chineye then progressed to the role of Senior Associate, leading teams on audit engagements and handling tasks such as computing Company Income Tax and Petroleum Profit Tax. In 2019, Chineye joined PwC Nigeria as a Semi Senior Associate and later became a Senior Associate, focusing on audit engagements for companies in the financial services industry. Chineye audited major financial statement line items in accordance with relevant accounting standards. In 2021, they worked as a Senior Consultant at SAPRO, and in 2022, they became a Faculty Member at Tekedia Institute. Chineye co-founded Tyms Africa in 2021 and currently serves as the COO. Chineye is also a member of Google for Startups, starting in 2023.

Chineye Ochem obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from the University of Benin, where they studied from 2010 to 2014. In 2021, they earned a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with a specialization in Advanced AI and the Future of Automation from Nexford University. Additionally, Chineye has obtained several certifications including "Data Science & Analytics Intro" from IBM, "EFSET English Certificate 76/100 (C2 Proficient)" from EF Standard English Test (EF SET), "Alteryx" from PwC, and "Analyzing and Visualizing Data with Microsoft Power BI" from PwC. Chineye is also an Associate Chartered Accountant with The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria and a Certified Fraud Examiner with the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE).
