Janis Berneker

Janis Berneker has had a varied and extensive career in the digital and media industries. In 2019, they became Co-Founder and CTO of Typewise, where they raised CHF 15k from 800+ backers on Kickstarter, and reached #1 in Swiss and #3 in German App Stores. Janis was also featured on TechCrunch, CNET, SRF, Watson, Times of India, etc. Prior to this, they worked at SRF - Schweizer Radio und Fernsehen from 2014-2019, in roles including Functional Lead Digital Analytics & Data Science and Digital Analyst (Web & App). Janis was also Managing Partner at icoaching from 2010-2014, Leiter Marktforschung at IDG Communications AG from 2005-2011, Mitarbeiter Internetforschung at Schweizer Radio und Fernsehen from 2011-2010, Praktikant at SRG SSR idée suisse from 2010-2010, and Freier Journalist at EB Zürich and anthrazit from 2009-2010.

Janis Berneker attended the University of Zurich from 2006 to 2009, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Social Science with a focus on Publizistik- & Kommunikationswissenschaften, Politik, and Psychologie. In 2005, they attended MAZ - Die Schweizer Journalistenschule for a Nachdiplomkurs Fachpresse. Janis then returned to the University of Zurich from 2010 to 2014, where they obtained a Master of Arts in Social Science with a focus on Publizistik- & Kommunikationswissenschaften, Politik, and Psychologie. In 2017 and 2018, Janis Berneker took courses on Udemy in Python for Data Science and Machine Learning.
