Debora Santo

Debora Santo's work experience starts in 2014 when they joined Nauka u Srbiji as a Content Manager, where they focused on science communication. In 2015, they also became a Reviewer for the PlosOne journal, specializing in plant genetics research.

In 2017, Debora started an internship at Shleep, where they provided growth support and worked on molecular biology and genetics projects. Debora also became a Reviewer for the Plant Biosystems journal at Taylor & Francis Group during this time.

In 2018, Debora worked as a Research Assistant at BioSense Accelerator, where they mentored teams and assisted in the accelerator program.

In 2019, Debora took on multiple roles at Typhoon HIL, Inc., starting as a Business Developer and eventually becoming the Marketing Operations Manager. Debora focused on marketing strategy creation and implementation, digital marketing management, and sales-related activities.

During the same year, they also worked as a Science Communication Manager for COST Association - European Cooperation in Science and Technology, where they specialized in statistical and machine learning techniques in human microbiome studies. Debora also served as a Trainer in unsupervised learning.

At the University of Georgia in 2017, Debora was a Visiting Research Scholar, spending eight months at the Center for Applied Genetic Technologies. Debora developed a 3'-tag RNA-seq protocol to measure gene expression in thousands of samples with reduced costs.

Debora has also held leadership positions at Udruženje privrednikovih pitomaca "Vladimir Matijević" as the Chairman of the Executive Board and later as an Executive Board Member.

Prior to that, they completed their Master of Science (MSc) in Molecular Biology at the University of Novi Sad, Faculty of Sciences, from 2013 to 2014. Debora also holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Molecular Biology from the same institution, which they completed from 2009 to 2013.

Debora's educational journey began at the "Dušan Vasiljev" Grammar School in Kikinda, Serbia, where they completed their high school education in Natural Sciences from 2005 to 2009. Debora further pursued their passion for music at the "Slobodan Malbaški" Music School in Kikinda, Serbia, completing an elementary music school degree focusing on piano and vocal from 1999 to 2004. Their elementary education took place at the Elementary School "Sveti Sava" in Kikinda, Serbia, from 1997 to 2005.
