Alex Downie

Alex Downie is a seasoned insurance professional with extensive experience in brokerage and underwriting. Currently serving as a Senior Broker at Tysers since April 2022, Alex previously held the position of Senior Marine Underwriter at Guardrisk from 2019 to December 2021. From March 2016 to February 2019, Alex was the Head of Department at Santam Insurance, and prior to that, served as a Shareholder at Astra Maritime for 18 years. Alex holds a Chartered Insurance Institute qualification, having earned the ACII designation in Insurance between July 1987 and November 1993.
