Maj. Gen. Michele C. Edmondson is the Air Force Deputy Chief of Staff for Warfighter Communications and Cyber Systems, Headquarters Air Force, the Pentagon, Arlington, Virginia. In this role, she serves as the Air Force's senior leader responsible for guidance, oversight, and advocacy of Air Force Warfighter Communications and Cyber Systems implementation. She integrates comprehensive planning, strategic resourcing, and force development, readiness, and management activities to deliver critical freedom of action in cyberspace, advancing Joint warfighting missions by ensuring the Service maintains technological superiority and operational resilience across all domains of conflict.
Maj. Gen. Edmondson entered the Air Force in 1993 as a graduate of the Air Force ROTC program at the University of Florida. She has served in a variety of space operations, acquisition, staff, and policy assignments associated with space-based missile warning; intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance; and communication systems at the unit, Air Staff, Joint Staff, and national levels as well as the Executive Office of the President. Maj. Gen. Edmondson has commanded a space operations squadron, a space and missile training group, Air Force basic military training, a technical training wing, the Air Force cadet wing as Commandant of Cadets at the United States Air Force Academy, as well as Second Air Force.
