Leah Garton has a diverse work experience in various roles and organizations. Leah started their career in 2004 as a Publications Coordinator for the UT School of Music at the University of Tennessee. In 2008, they joined Dynetics, Inc. as a Public Affairs Support Analyst for MDA, where they worked until 2010. Leah then transitioned to the Missile Defense Agency as a Public Affairs Officer, a role they held for eight years. In 2018, they joined Air Combat Command as the Chief of Media Operations and Executive Support, serving in that position until 2021. Currently, they are working at U.S. Army North (5th Army) as a Public Affairs Officer and Chief of Community Relations.

Leah Garton's education history begins with their graduation from Harding University in 2004, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Interactive Media. Following this, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Corporate and Organizational Communication from Northeastern University, graduating in 2011. In 2012, Leah attended the Defense Information School, where they completed the Public Affairs Officer Qualification Course. Most recently, in 2022, they participated in the Protocol Officer Training program at The Protocol School of Washington.
