Melissa Mendizabal currently serves as the Innovation Manager and Innovation Scholar at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation since August 2023. Previously, from August 2020 to July 2023, Melissa worked at College Achieve Public Schools as the District Science Lead, where a strong work ethic and skill set led to rapid advancement from a teacher to a lead teacher and then to a district science lead and instructional coach. As a selected Corp Member with Teach For America, Melissa contributed to teaching in under-resourced public schools after completing a rigorous summer training program. Earlier career roles included application consultant positions at MyMentor and CollegeVine, as well as a research assistantship at Yale University focusing on research in green chemistry. Melissa holds a Bachelor of Science in Energy Studies and Environmental Science from Yale University and completed the Rutgers Alternate Route Program for Elementary Education and Teaching.
