Deepika Mishra

Deepika Mishra is an experienced professional in the fields of plant and soil science, breeding, and sustainability. Currently serving as Standards and Data Lead (consultant) and Global Sustainability Consultant for the U.S. Cotton Trust Protocol since December 2020, Deepika has previously held the position of Research Scientist at CoverCress Inc., where responsibilities included managing breeding programs and leading innovative research to enhance soil microbial interactions. Deepika's background includes significant research work as an Assistant Research Scientist at Texas Tech University, focusing on genotype and environmental influences on cotton fiber properties and developing cotton lines for USDA. Earlier experience includes a role as Research Assistant at Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapeeth, supervising vegetable crop breeding. Deepika holds a PhD in Plant and Soil Science from Texas Tech University, a Master's in Horticultural Science, and a Bachelor's in Agriculture.
