Helen Yates serves as a District Conservationist at USDA-NRCS since July 2022, and holds the position of Soil Conservationist at USDA since February 2020. Prior experience includes an internship with USDA-NRCS from May 2018 to February 2020 and a Pathways Internship with the Natural Resource Conservation Service in the summer of 2018, where responsibilities included managing contracts, processing payments, conducting field visits, and providing technical assistance to landowners. Helen also worked as a Lab Assistant at Mississippi State University’s Department of Plant and Soil Sciences from August 2016 to May 2017, where tasks involved supporting graduate students and participating in academic conferences. Additional experience includes serving as a Conference Assistant for the Mississippi State University Housing Department during the summer of 2016. Helen holds a Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Engineering, Technology, and Business from Mississippi State University (2015-2019) and is pursuing a Master of Science in Environmental Geosciences at the same institution, expected to be completed in December 2023.
