Jay Johnson is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in agricultural statistics and leadership roles within the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) since May 1989. Currently serving as Associate Area Director for the Midwest Area at USDA's Agricultural Research Service, Jay has held several senior executive positions, including Director of Eastern Field Operations, Director for the Great Lakes Region, and Acting Director of the Census and Survey Division at the National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS). Jay's expertise spans planning, directing, and coordinating national agricultural statistical programs, and leading various regional field operations across multiple states. Educational qualifications include a degree in Agriculture Business Management from Penn State University and completed coursework in Statistics at North Carolina State University, along with additional studies at American University.
