Jennifer Carlson, MPH, RD, currently serves as the Branch Chief of the School Meals Policy Division at the USDA, a position held since November 2014. Prior to this role, Jennifer worked as an Associate for the Kids' Safe and Healthful Foods Project at The Pew Charitable Trusts and as a Senior Research Assistant with the Food Surveys Research Group at USDA ARS. Jennifer's early experience includes serving as a Research Dietitian at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and as a Registered Dietitian at ARAMARK Healthcare. Additionally, Jennifer completed an internship at the USDA in 2007. Educational credentials include a Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition, Foods and Exercise from Virginia Tech, a Master of Public Health in Human Nutrition from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, and a Dietetic Internship in Nutrition Sciences from the University of Maryland. Expertise encompasses nutrition assessment, intervention planning, and collaboration within interdisciplinary care teams to support diverse patient populations.
