Michael McConnell currently serves as the Chair and Deputy Chair of the Livestock, Poultry, and Dairy Interagency Committees at the World Agricultural Outlook Board within the USDA, having transitioned into these roles in July 2022. In his earlier position with the USDA Economic Research Service from October 2014 to July 2022, Michael coordinated market outlook programs for both Feed Grains and Sugar and Sweeteners. Prior to this, Michael worked as a Senior Consultant at Informa Economics, Inc., and as an International Trade Analyst at the U.S. International Trade Commission, focusing on various agricultural commodities. Michael began the career as an Agricultural Economist at the USDA, where significant contributions included market analysis for beef, cattle, sweeteners, and biofuels. Michael holds a Master’s degree in Economics from Lehigh University and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and History from the same institution.
