Murali Bandla

Murali Bandla is an experienced professional in plant health and phytopathology, currently serving as Area Director and Regional Manager at the USDA Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) since January 2016. With a career at the USDA beginning in March 2012 as Associate Deputy Administrator for International Services, Murali previously held positions including Assistant Deputy Administrator for Phytosanitary Issues Management and Director of the Plant Safeguarding and Pest Identification Unit at APHIS from February 2006 to June 2012. Prior to this, Murali served as Vice President of Research and Development at EnviroLogix and as Director of Research and Development at Agdia Inc. from June 2001 to June 2004. The professional journey began as Manager of the Hybridoma Center at Diagnostic Systems Laboratories from March 1997 to May 2001. Murali earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Plant Pathology/Phytopathology from Oklahoma State University between 1990 and 1996.
