Neal Robbins

Neal Robbins is currently serving as Deputy Under Secretary at the USDA since August 2025. Prior to this role, Robbins was Special Counsel at Maynard Nexsen PC from January 2017 to August 2025, focusing on corporate and finance law. Robbins also held the position of Publisher at North State Journal, the only statewide newspaper in North Carolina, from February 2016 to August 2025, and managed North State Media, LLC from March 2015 to August 2025. Earlier experience includes serving as the Director of Legislative and Intergovernmental Affairs at the North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality, where Robbins was the primary legislative advocate for environmental and energy policy. Robbins has also practiced law with Neal Robbins PLLC and Carruthers & Roth, P.A., specializing in regulatory and transactional matters. Educational credentials include a BS in Chemical Engineering from North Carolina State University, a JD from Wake Forest University School of Law, and an MBA from Wake Forest University School of Business.
