Pat Swanson is currently the Risk Management Agency Administrator at the USDA, a position held since March 2025, overseeing the federal crop insurance program to support US farmers and ranchers. Prior to this role, Pat owned a crop insurance agency specializing in Ag Risk Management from March 2002 to March 2025 and operated a seventh-generation family farm in SE Iowa from August 1988 to March 2025, focusing on soybeans, corn, and cattle production. Additional experience includes serving as a board director for the Federal Crop Insurance Corporation from October 2020 to October 2024 and as a member of the USDA Farm Service Agency State Committee from January 2018 to September 2021. Pat holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Iowa State University and an Associate of Science in Computer Science from Iowa Central Community College.
