Rachel Schoenian

Rachel Schoenian is a Senior Technical Advisor at the USDA's Food and Nutrition Service, with a focus on Supplemental Nutrition and Safety Programs since August 2016. In this role, Rachel interprets federal legislation and regulations, prepares policy memoranda, and manages initiatives such as the TEFAP Reach and Resiliency grant. Prior experience includes serving as a Program Analyst at the USDA and working as a Graduate Teaching Assistant at Indiana University Bloomington. Rachel's background also includes two years as a Community-Based Environmental Manager with the Peace Corps in the Peruvian Andes and various internships in food security, micro-finance, and development. Rachel holds a Master of Public Affairs in Public Policy Analysis and a Bachelor of Science in Public Affairs with a focus on Nonprofit Management from Indiana University Bloomington, along with a study abroad experience in Development Studies at the University of Ghana.
