Tim Paape is a seasoned research geneticist currently employed at the USDA since April 2023 and serves as an adjunct professor at Texas A&M AgriLife starting in December 2023. Previously, Tim worked at Brookhaven National Laboratory as an associate biologist from September 2020 to April 2023, and held positions as a senior teaching and research assistant as well as a senior postdoctoral researcher at the University of Zürich from January 2016 to September 2020. Tim's earlier roles include senior postdoctoral fellow at the Swiss Plant Science Center through an EU Marie Curie fellowship and postdoctoral researcher involved in the Medicago Hapmap Project at the University of Minnesota. Academic qualifications include a PhD in Evolutionary Biology from UC San Diego (2004-2009). Tim's expertise lies in plant genomics, plant physiology, evolutionary genetics, and metabolomics.
