Yuki Miyamoto Mendez

Yuki Miyamoto Mendez, PMP, currently serves as the Public Safety Communications Program Manager at the U.S. Department of Commerce, a position held since December 2013, where responsibilities include overseeing policies and activities related to public safety communications programs and managing grants for the National Telecommunications and Information Agency. Prior to this role, Yuki was a Senior Supervisory Policy Analyst at the U.S. Department of Justice from May 2011 to December 2013, leading teams in the design and awarding of community policing grant programs. Earlier experience includes serving as Supervisor of the Planning Unit for the Austin Police Department from 2001 to 2011, as well as holding the position of Advisor to the Mayor and Executive Aide for the City of Austin from 2000 to 2001, where advisory roles focused on workforce development and international partnerships. Yuki holds a Master of Public Affairs from The University of Texas at Austin.
