Fred West has extensive experience within the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) since April 2008, currently serving as the Deputy Director of the Office of Enterprise Assessments. In this role, Fred West oversees independent assessments focused on national security and operational safety. Previously, Fred West held the title of Director of Cyber Assessments, managing the Cyber Security Appraisal Program, and served as a Computer Scientist, coordinating cybersecurity evaluations. Prior to joining DOE, Fred West worked as an Associate at Booz Allen Hamilton and served as a Communications Officer/F-16 Crew Chief in the USAF from 1995 to 2007. Academic credentials include a Master’s degree in Computer Resources and Information Management from Webster University, a Bachelor’s degree in Professional Aeronautics from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, and an Associate degree in Tactical Aircraft Maintenance from the Community College of the Air Force.
