Eddie Bocanegra

Eddie Bocanegra is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in social work and community outreach. Currently serving as a Senior Advisor to the Office of the Assistant Attorney General at the U.S. Department of Justice since March 2022, Eddie previously held the position of Senior Director at Heartland Alliance from June 2017 to February 2022. Eddie's background also includes serving as Executive Director at the YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago, where leadership focused on youth safety and violence prevention across eight communities from April 2013 to June 2017. Prior roles include Organizer at Community Renewal Society and Violence Interrupter at CeaseFire, reflecting a strong commitment to conflict mediation and community safety. Eddie Bocanegra holds a Master’s degree in Social Work Administration from the University of Chicago and a Bachelor of Social Work from Northeastern Illinois University.
