Elizabeth Platt is a distinguished legal professional with extensive experience in environmental law and litigation. Currently serving as a Trial Attorney in the Environmental Torts Litigation division of the U.S. Department of Justice since 2022, Elizabeth previously worked as an Associate Attorney at Smith, Gildea & Schmidt, LLC from 2020 to 2022, and gained valuable experience as a Judicial Law Clerk for the Honorable Judge Booth in the Maryland Judiciary. Elizabeth's background includes roles as a Judicial Intern in the Superior Court of the District of Columbia and as a Law Clerk at the U.S. Department of Justice and the US Environmental Protection Agency. Additionally, Elizabeth has engaged in legal research as a Legal Intern for the National Association of Clean Water Agencies. Elizabeth earned a Juris Doctor, Magna Cum Laude, from American University Washington College of Law and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Washington and Lee University.
