Kevin Barber is an accomplished attorney with extensive experience in both government and private practice. Currently serving as the Assistant to the Solicitor General at the U.S. Department of Justice since September 2017, Kevin has held multiple influential roles, including in the Criminal Division and the Office of Legal Counsel. Recognized with the Attorney General's Distinguished Service Award in 2020 and the John Marshall Award for Outstanding Legal Achievement in 2022, Kevin's legal expertise is well-regarded. Prior to this, Kevin worked as an associate at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP and clerked for Judge Thomas M. Hardiman at the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. Kevin holds a JD from Georgetown University Law Center, graduating magna cum laude, and a BA in English and Philosophy from Georgetown University, also graduating magna cum laude.
