Deisy Verdinez has 17 years of work experience, starting from 2004. Deisy began their career as a Freelance Writer for various community newspapers in Houston. Deisy then worked as a Copy Editor for the Victoria Advocate, where they gained skills in editing, newsroom operations, and design.

Deisy later joined The Axis Agency as an Intern, Assistant Account Executive, and eventually an Account Executive. Deisy played a vital role in the Go Direct campaign for the US Federal Reserve Banks, building partnerships and coalitions across Texas and South Florida.

In 2012, Deisy joined the Foreign and Commonwealth Office as a Communications Officer, responsible for supporting the Head of Politics, Press & Public Affairs and the Consul General in policy communication and profile raising. Deisy also managed social media and promoted the Marshall Scholarship in the Southwest region.

Deisy then transitioned to the role of Head of Politics, Press & Public Affairs, where they organized conferences and built relationships with Latino leaders. Deisy later took on the role of Vice President at Portland, a London-based communications agency. Here, they supported international clients during high-level delegation visits.

Currently, Deisy is working as the PR & Communications Director at the U.S. Green Building Council, a position they started in 2021.

Deisy Verdinez holds a Master of Arts degree in International Studies from Texas State University, which they completed in 2010. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism-Public Relations from Sam Houston State University in 2004.
