Laurie Kerr, FAIA, LEED AP, serves as Principal Climate Advisor at the U.S. Green Building Council since July 2019, focusing on the LEED v5 decarbonization framework and related building policies. As President of LK POLICY LAB, Laurie proposed NYSERDA's Buildings of Excellence competition and has developed courses on decarbonizing existing buildings in collaboration with CUNY BPL and AIANY. Previous roles include Director of Policy at Urban Green Council and Founding Director of the City Energy Project at the Natural Resources Defense Council. During tenure at the NYC Office of the Mayor, Laurie led significant sustainability initiatives, including the Greener, Greater Buildings Plan. Educational achievements include a BA in Engineering and Applied Science from Yale University, an MArch from Harvard University Graduate School of Design, and an MSc in Applied Physics from Cornell University.
