Jamie Raskin serves as the Congressman for Maryland's 8th Congressional District since January 2017, following an extensive career in public service and law. Prior to Congress, Jamie Raskin spent nearly a decade in the Maryland State Senate, where leadership roles included Majority Whip and Chairman of various committees focused on ethics reform and legislative nominations. Raskin is a constitutional law professor at American University Washington College of Law and founded the Marshall-Brennan Constitutional Literacy Project. Previous roles also include General Counsel for The National Rainbow Coalition and Assistant Attorney General for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Jamie Raskin holds a Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School and a Bachelor's Degree in Government from Harvard University.
